UPDATE FAQ 10/17: 

1. We're 2/3 of our way to goal of raising $10k for nonprofit Matiak Foundation. Remember 100% of proceeds goes directly to the cause.
2. Your donations are going directly to support under-served community in Honduras in building infrastructure around schools, playground, kitchen, clean water, hygeine, helpind feed the students, etc.
3. While it will be a tough workout (nothing new there lol), you don't have to be any certain level to participate, can go at your own pace and will have mods. You can do this!
4. If you can't attend, please consider ghost participant, donating and/or sharing the event.
5. Join us for the after party celebration & 4 year anniversary Grit-Together at 12PM at The Holler in downtown Canton... All welcome!

GRIT FOR A CAUSE will be a competitive, timed team workout event designed to challenge your limits all for a great cause.  All proceeds to support the Matiak Foundation to make a positive impact together within our community and beyond.    All participants will receive a commemorative shirt.   Read more about the Matiak Foundation below...

Matiak Foundation mission is to serve children, young adults, and families in our community and abroad by providing resources, education, and opportunities for them to succeed. We do this by engaging our community and partnering with nonprofit agencies and individuals, both locally and abroad that share the same focus and core values as our own.

Our Vision

• Matiak Foundation partners with New Missions, a nonprofit organization, who have been serving in Haiti and the Dominican Republic since 1983.
• Matiak Foundation has hosted multiple “Shoebox Drive” events. Engaging the local community and business partners to collect school supplies, hygiene items and toys for the shoeboxes.
• Collecting shoes and sandals from a local business partner to send to Haiti.
• Providing financial support for wells to be built in both Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
• Matiak Foundation partnered with Finca T, a coffee farm employer in Corquin Honduras. To help an under-served community by building a multi-purpose building that serves as a school, small clinic, and space for community gatherings.
• Along with the multi-purpose building Matiak Foundation and Finca T, were able to provide this rural community with clean drinking water by building a well, water holding tank and a water filling station. Families can come to the filling station and collect fresh water for their homes to use in cooking, drinking and personal hygiene. The multi-purpose building was completed in 2023 and now has around 28 students in attendance every day and a staff of exceptional teachers.
• Matiak Foundation, Finca-T and Alma Coffee raised funds to provide a playground for the school which is nearing completion now. Other projects that need to be completed are a security fence around the property of the school and playground. We will also be constructing an outside kitchen and dining area for the students. Each student receives snacks and lunch while at school, moms have been volunteering their time to prepare these meals and snacks.
• Matiak Foundation works with local non-profits to help broadcast needs within our community, raise funds and offer support in any way that we can.
